You want to know how many of you have used the promo code “SJWC2010” to receive $5 off your next order (subtotal over $100)?
Nobody. None. Nada. Nil. Zilch. Zero.
You, our customers and friends, are savvy individuals! You realized that we’re offering $5 off for every win by the USA. The Americans play Algeria on Wednesday, June 23rd. If the US wins, that promo code will give you $10 off your next order. There’s a good chance that, with a win, they will advance to the pool play with 15 other teams. Potentially, that means they could win four more times…
If my math is correct–carry the two, square the common denominator, divide the rest–that would be $30 off your next order!
Regardless, just don’t forget to use this promo code sometime before July 11th (subtotal over $100)!

For those of you that might not know about it, E3 is a yearly expo in which the three titans of gaming (Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony) exhibit their latest innovations in gaming technology. This year, Microsoft revealed new details about Kinect, a motion-sensing bar that will integrate with the Xbox 360. What does this mean for the TV industry? Well, as Microsoft showed on June 13th, Kinect is sure to bring us closer to truly hands free control over TVs.
With Kinect, you’ll be able to use voice and motion commands to quickly find what you want from the Xbox 360 menu. Instead of pressing a bunch of buttons to log in to a menu, you can sign in with a wave of your hand. Kinect’s face recognition will automatically determine who you are and log you in to your account. From there, it only takes a wave of your other hand to be brought to a menu you can fully control with your voice and hands.
Kinect really shines in its use with Zune, one of the Xbox 360’s streaming movie and music programs. You only have to say its name to access it then use your hands to select what you want to watch or listen to. If you want to fast forward or rewind a movie you’re watching, all you have to do is use your hands. You simply move them in the direction you want to go. You can use your voice to pause and play the movie too! The same controls are used for music with Zune as well.
When Kinect releases in November, it will only be able to control the menus within the Xbox 360 software, like Zune, Netflix and Facebook. It’s not quite a remote control replacement yet, but Microsoft has definitely given the technology industry a push toward hands free controls. Seems like it won’t be long until we’re all controlling our TVs without a dozen remotes!
If you’re a big fan of soccer, you’ve come to the right place. If not, I GUARANTEE you’ll save money on your next order (subtotal over $100). So, my fellow soccer fans and penny savers, here’s our pitch (Get it? “Pitch,” as in the British term for “soccer field?” Pun intended. Shoot, nevermind.):
- For every win by the good ol’ US of A, you’ll receive $5.00 off your next order (the order subtotal has to be over $100) if you enter the code “SJWC2010” during the checkout process. For instance, if they win their next game against Slovenia on 6/18, you’ll get $10 off your order. Make sense?
- BUT, you can only use that promotional code ONCE. If you use it right now, you’ll receive $5 off, since a tie against favored England is almost a win (and we’re feeling generous). However, USA is guaranteed at least two more games (6/18 and 6/23). After that, it’s anyone’s guess…

On a web dating service, you’d describe yourself as: I wouldn’t be on one–I’m married.
Have you ever watched an internet video and, at 30 seconds, wondered, “This is kind of cool, but pretty weird. Why am I watching it?” Then, at a minute or more, you ask yourself, “This is getting weirder. Why am I still watching it?”
This is one of those videos. I’m not sure what’s going on in the background, but the concept is cool, I guess. Dubbed “LCD Bending,” it’s the process of pressing a finger on a LCD TV that’s turned on.
Oh, and by the way, to the creator of this video: we’ll gladly take that TV. :)
