A resistor is a passive, two-terminal electrical component that implements electrical resistance as a circuit element. In electronic circuits, resistors are used to reduce current flow, adjust signal levels, divide voltages, bias active elements, terminate transmission lines, and other uses.
• Depending on the circuit, a failed or defective resistor may not produce any symptoms. Often times, resistors will be visually burnt and you’ll know that they need to be replaced.

You’ll need to have soldering experience to replace a resistor on a board. If you don’t have that technical background, we suggest replacing the board instead.
