IR sensor is short for infrared sensor, and the sole purpose of the IR sensor is to receive the signal from your remote control and send it to the main board as an electronic signal.

Which symptoms does an IR sensor fix in a TV?

•  If your TV does not respond to any remote control functions (and you’ve already ruled out any potential issues with your remote), then your IR sensor is likely bad.
